Over-Inflated Pay Checks and [Maybe] Egos--TV Sports Announcers Bob Costas, Al Michaels, Joe Buck and Jim Nantz Each Paid $5 Million a Year



NBC's Costas and Michaels, Fox's Buck and CBS' Nantz are the highest-paid. Then there are Chris Berman and Mike Tirico of ESPN. Each is paid $3 million annually. Chris Berman? Give me a break. [Sources: Sports Business Journal, USA Today].

I'm wondering what Gary Williams did to get on the Big Ten Network. He's not exactly Mr. Excitement. The only guy who was worse was Gene Keady. At least Keady had a better Big Ten resume than Williams, who bailed out on Ohio State so he could coach at Maryland.

I knew Iowa State would beat Oklahoma State. Not in my wildest dreams could I see Fred Hoiberg losing to Travis Ford at Hilton.
